Play Like a Girl Australia at the Re-launch of Southern Sista's Networking Event

Play Like a Girl Australia had the pleasure of participating in the re-launch of the Southern Sista's Networking Event, hosted by the Southern Football Netball League.

The event, titled "Finding Balance," was held at RSEA Park and welcomed over 70 attendees on the night.

The evening was led by MC and SFNL Board Member, Chelsea Frawley, and featured an impressive lineup of speakers:

  • Laura Kane, AFL Executive, General Manager of Football
  • Holly Bailey, Founder of Play Like a Girl Australia
  • Amanda Del Prete, Tennis Australia Director of Product & Customer Experience, and SFNL Board Member

Our panelists shared their experiences and advice on balancing professional and personal lives in today's busy world. They also discussed the significant progress in sporting opportunities for women, particularly in the AFLW and community women's football.

The event was a great success, as highlighted by SFNL CEO Lee Hartman. He praised the panelists for their valuable insights and practical tips on managing life’s pressures.

"The first event of the re-launched 'Southern Sista’s' was a huge success," Hartman said. "The panel offered our club members a chance to hear how these professionals find balance within their hectic careers and family lives. Everyone who attended left with valuable takeaways."

Hartman announced plans to grow the Southern Sista's initiative within the SFNL clubs, with the next event being the Women's Grand Final Breakfast on Friday, August 23rd. Additional online sessions are also planned to support the "Southern Sista's" community.

The re-launch event demonstrated the power of community and the importance of supporting women in sport.

We look forward to many more events like this in the future!
